The PTA Reflections Program is an annual competition for students across the nation. For over 40 years, students have been encouraged to explore their artistic talents and pursue creative expression in one or more of the six categories of dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and visual arts.
Student winners advance to the council, Ninth district, and state levels, with the best-of-the-best entries going to National PTA, to be considered for a National Reflections Award. Prize packages consist of cash prizes and an arts education award to the student’s local PTA.
Each year the program challenges students to create art inspired by a specific theme. This year’s theme is “Within Reach”
All students at Torrey Hills School, in Kindergarten through grade 6, are encouraged to participate in the contest. Your submission must include a completed and signed student entry form, including the artist’s statement. In your artist statement, be sure to explain how your work relates to the theme, “Within Reach”.
An awards ceremony will be held on October 27th at 5:00 pm in the MUR to celebrate and recognize the artwork of all participants.

Students - often joined by their teachers - run/jog/walk around the track as many times as possible during a given time frame. Parent volunteers pass out water/oranges, help count laps or just cheer on the joggers. In the end, all students are treated to a cool snack for their enthusiastic participation. Friends and family can support the students by making a per lap or lump sum donation. The Jog-A-Thon is all about getting outside and getting active - and it's a great way to get involved!
Every day, parent volunteers spend 15-20 minutes during morning drop off assisting school families with a very important job. They help students to quickly and safely exit their vehicles, with their backpacks and other school materials, before heading off to class. Please follow the volunteers and teachers direction to get your child safely to school. Drop-off instructions.
